Encounter Christianity... In Journeys

Children are very aware of the journeys they make. Sometimes these are short - shopping, going to school; sometimes they are longer- holidays, visiting relatives, travelling on trains, planes etc. Christians believe life is a journey and this theme occurs again and again across the whole Christian tradition in every culture and every age. There is the personal journey made by each person through life, from birth to death; there is the journey pilgrims make to special places of special interest to Christians - Israel, Lourdes and Knock. Journeys and journeying are great classical story themes and this book helps each pupil reflect on how the journeys they make in their lives, in their dreams or in their hopes can find a parallel in Christian belief in the journey of life.
