The National Society and Culham College Institute have joined
forces to offer acts of worship for both primary and secondary schools.
Each of these acts of worship can be printed off and used as a resource
for planning your own worship. Each one includes ways to develop
the theme, ideas for readings, music and follow-up activities.
http://www.assemblies.org.uk
This is a site provided by the Society for Promoting Christian
Knowledge (SPCK). A primary schools' assembly site, it offers two
assemblies each week. They are written by experienced practitioners,
and are offered for either the whole school or just Key Stage 2.
They cover a number of different topics. A nice feature of the site
is the 'rapid response' section, where assemblies are provided to
match a news item of note.

This site presents several sample acts of worship on giving, prayer
and the psalms in the 'Schools' section. These include a useful
'Make the connection' introductory section that bridges the gap between
the children's own experience and the assembly theme. For instance,
an assembly on Psalm 104 takes the theme of 'a picture of God the
Creator' and begins with asking what plants or animals the children
saw on their way to school. It then progresses with suggestions
for a reading, 'pause for thought', a prayer and a song.

Rather than providing single assemblies, this site tackles a theme
and gives a wealth of resources to support its teaching. For instance,
the excellent section on bullying gives a primary and secondary
act of worship, a number of prayers, notes for the teacher and follow-up
material. The primary act of worship uses the story of The Ugly
Duckling to tackle the theme of bullying, whilst the secondary act of worship
uses the story of Michael, a 17-year-old boy reliving a moment when, at the
age of 8, he was bullied, that has remained a painful memory ever since.

This web site includes assembly ideas, scripts and links and a calendar
of religious festivals. The site is particularly helpful for general
resources, such as prayer suggestions, rather than for detailed
assemblies.
